This week on our Social Media Mishaps Video Blog series on the 8 most common mistakes business owners make when running their social media campaign, we take a look at what happens when you don’t allow fans/followers to post on your Facebook Timeline or worse: you delete their posts. When business owners (or the people they have running their social media campaign) do this, you miss out on the opportunity to help and engage your clients. Maybe they have a complaint that they want you to address – Great! This gives you the opportunity to make things right and show all your other fans and followers that you provide great customer service and are willing to admit when you were wrong. Maybe they want to ask a question or tell you that you did a great job – Again, wonderful! More great exposure! However, this cannot happen if you’re taking posts down or not allowing people to post at all. Although there are some situations where taking a post down is the way to go, in most cases issues can be solved in other and better ways. Check out this week’s video to see some examples.
At Transformation Marketing, we understand that engaging your fan base is the most important part of social media, which is why it’s important to let your fans post and not take their posts down just because they didn’t have all positive things to say.
