This means that Phil hasn’t spent a Father’s Day with his dad for over 15 years.

 

He has to get on a plane and then drive out to the ranch where his father lives. It shows them embracing when he arrives at his father’s house as they reconnect. “I didn’t have a lot of time to spend with him growing up, my dad always reached out, but I sort of pulled away.” Phil realizes that his dad wants to be in his life, even if he lives far away from him.

 

They will spend this father’s day the simple way. They will work on the ranch together, because that is what will make his dad the happiest. By spending time with his son, he will get exactly what he wants. No present can top the time spent with the ones you love. “Every time I see my dad, it feels like I’m coming back home.”
