The “Transformation” Work Environment

The Transformation Marketing Water Cooler Chat - Transformation Work Environment

I cannot tell you the importance I’ve found in a great work environment. Well, actually, I can… and that’s what I’m going to do. I’ve had both in my life. I’ve had work environments that I really enjoyed and I’ve had some that made my job so miserable that it literally made sick to my stomach to go to work every day. Today, I want to compare these different types of work environments and explain why a company that provides their employees with a positive work environment is a better company to do business with.

The Hawk vs Empowerment
I had an employer once that watched me like a hawk. My every move was under close inspection. I can tell you, without a doubt, that I messed up more working that way than I ever have at any other job in my life. Now, when I have just the opposite and am given the power to do things my way and not have my every move analyzed, do I still make mistakes? Yes. I’m human. But I make them much less and I am more able to learn the lessons of my mistakes and how to fix them on my own, which has helped me become a better person and leader.

The Debby Downer vs the Fun Frankie
I worked in a position once where fun was very much frowned upon. Now, my personal opinion is that when the majority of your week is spent on work, you sure as heck better be having fun doing it or your life is going to be a downer. I can say, without having to think about it, that I laugh at least once every single day at work. I think when employees are having fun, they actually work harder, because it doesn’t seem so much like work.

The Team Effect
Creating a team environment means painting the bigger picture for your employees. At Transformation Marketing, I know, that I could not have a job without the sales team who brings me the clients or Shannon, the president that keeps all of us on the right track or the help of my Graphic Design and Social Media team, because I would never be able to do it all on my own. And… vise versa. We all depend on each other and respect each other’s roles in the company… And even more, we respect each other. Shannon and Travis have built one heck of a team. We all seem to mesh really well with each other, which makes the fun part a heck of a lot easier. We are able to bounce ideas off of each other, laugh even when we’re having a bad day and find solutions to problems because let’s face it… two heads are always better than one!!

At Transformation Marketing
I have found all these things here. I am not just a part of the team, I am a part of the company. I am behind what we stand for here and the clients aren’t just the company’s clients. They are MY clients and I treat them that way… Which brings me to my last point…

Do you want to work with a company where the person you’re working with considers you  their personal client or one where the person you’re working with is doing what they’re doing simply because they are being told to do so in order to get a paycheck?

Do you want to work with a company where you deal with a person who needs to check with someone higher up to solve your problem or with a person who has been empowered to handle your problem on their own?

Do you want to work with a company who has employees who truly enjoy what they are doing for you and your company or do you want to work with a company who has employees that count the hours until they get to go home at the end of the day?

I don’t know about you, but I’d pick a company like Transformation Marketing every time.
