Doctors are expected to work by a certain code of ethics. If they fail to live up to those ethics or are neglectful and their patient suffers because of that, they are liable. At Transformation Marketing, we believe that marketing companies should be required to live up to a certain code of ethics as well. Selling a client something they don’t need, selling them a product and then not delivering that product, or delivering a faulty product (see our Logo Thief Blog) can seriously effect that client’s bottom line and as a small business, we know how much that can hurt the lives of many people, which is why we feel marketing companies should be held responsible for those actions.
Lately, we’ve seen many clients coming from other marketing agencies (which we will not name) that have really been burned. Sometimes they know they’ve been burned. Sometimes they don’t realize that they are not getting their money’s worth. Either way, this makes us angry. We care deeply for each and every one of our clients and our joy is getting to see them succeed, so when we see someone who is getting cheated or being manipulated, it really cuts right to our hearts.
We’ve coined a term for this type of behavior in our industry around here… Marketing Malpractice. If you’ve been a victim of Marketing Malpractice, or you suspect that you may not be getting your money’s worth from your marketing agency, please give us a call. We can’t take your old marketing company to court or make them give you your money back, but we can help you to get your marketing back on track. At Transformation Marketing, it all comes down to TRUST and RESULTS. And we don’t say that lightly.
NOTE: There are a lot of great and honest agencies out there-we’re not saying we are the only one. Unfortunately, though, we are one of the few. Be careful when choosing your marketing company. Consider getting references, take a good look at their portfolio, and don’t trust promises that seem too good to be true.
