TM is celebrating 15 years being in business by doing 15 Acts of Kindness throughout our community. For our first Act of Kindness, we delivered drinks and snacks to the first and second graders involved with the Star Reading Program at Saratoga Elementary School. Not only did we have a blast hanging out with the kids, we even learned a few things from them too!
Our third act involves a passion for mentoring that our Digital Marketing Strategist, Kyle, brings to the team. He has been working with the TeamMates Mentoring Program for quite a while now! A few weeks ago Kyle volunteered at the Lincoln TeamMates Annual Fall Kick-Off Event to celebrate the start of a new school year AND to prepare the mentors as they head back into the schools to meet with their mentees. Not long after this, we all helped Kyle create craft packets for the mentors to use with their mentees!
Our 4th Random Act of Kindness, celebrating our 15th Anniversary as a company was assembling kits for Lincoln’s Teammates Mentoring Program. The kits will be used as part of the Monthly Service Project initiate the Lincoln TeamMates are implementing to encourage their TeamMates Matches to work together to give back to the community. The kits we put together will help mentor/mentee matches create beautiful pieces of art for the Lancaster Rehabilitation Center!
Five. Meet Anna Watters – Anna is a sophomore at Concordia University, majoring in psychology and behavioral science and minoring in Spanish. She is ALSO a member of the Concordia track and field team as well as the A Capella choir. TM had the privilege of sponsoring Anna’s sports participation through the “Hometown Sponsors” program – being a town of very few businesses it is important we support the success of our young adults! During Anna’s free time (who knew she had any!), she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Act six, pick up sticks. Three, four, shut the door. Seven, eight, no wait… sorry about that (too much counting)! Our sixth act is brought to you via Lacy and Kyle as they performed for the residents at the Coddington Memory Care facility! Though maybe rustier than either of them would have liked, when we heard about the benefits of music for those with memory problems, they both jumped at the chance to share a song or two with the residents.
#7 is a special treat. For this act we spent the afternoon volunteering at the Lincoln Children’s Museum to help clean so that children with weakened immune systems could come and enjoy the fun activities for a night. It was truly rewarding to get down and dirty with the cleaning supplies knowing that it meant kids would be able to enjoy an experience they otherwise couldn’t have. We are so grateful for the opportunity to lend a hand.
We gladly present act number 8! Shannon, our President, put together these awesome gift sets! They include water bottles, candy, and some small toys. These gifts will be handed out to kids when Santa comes to visit Panama for Christmas! We can’t wait to see the looks on their faces when the right jolly old elf himself rides in on his sleigh and is able to hand each of them a gift!
Our 9th Act of Kindness was another labor of love. Shannon and Travis put in a lot of work to ensure Panama’s Annual Santa visit was a success. Santa was so thankful he even did his best Travis impression while he was in town. Including both a potluck and a visit from the North Pole, this is a wonderful community event that gets everyone together.
Act #10 was setting up and promoting a holiday blood drive. Our goal was to donate 18 pints of blood and that’s just what we did! The #beanteam was responsible for a third of those donations! That’s 6 pints! Thanks to all who came out and made this a success! If you didn’t get a chance to participate, don’t worry, Lacy did a Facebook Live. Watch the video of Lacy giving blood and pretend you’re there too!
Act of Kindness number 11 was a success! We volunteered to help TeamMates with their annual Recognition Dinner. The dinner is put on to honor mentors, mentees, facilitators and community supporters for their accomplishments during the year and involvement with the TeamMates Program. Thanks for letting us be a part of this awesome night!
We spent part of yesterday afternoon packing kits for TeamMates as part of our 12th Act of Kindness! We love giving back to our community and love this program! Here’s a quick time lapse of our work!
13th Act of Kindness! We have been waiting to hear final numbers to release this! Our team contributed change to Bennet-Palmyra’s fundraising for Nebraska Flood Victims. The class we contributed to raised over $500. The elementary school raised over $4,000 and the school as a whole raised nearly $6,000 for Nebraska flood victims.
